Code of Conduct
Valor is part of Ortessa Group bv. Ortessa is a group of enterprising waste companies, each with its own specialty, but with one clear intention: Open About Waste. The Ortessa Code of Conduct is based on the European Social Charter, the ILO Declaration June 1998, ILO Convention 169 and the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development 19921. Ortessa recognizes the fundamental principles of human rights as described in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (United Nations 1948) and expects the same from Ortessa stakeholders. Among which:
Equal treatment of employees, with no discrimination on the basis of race, religion, age, nationality, social or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, identity or expression, marital status, pregnancy, political opinion or disability, or on any other ground. #EqualTreatment
No child labor, where in this context “child” means any person employed under the age of 15 years or a higher age when the minimum age of employment in the country in which the work is performed is fixed at that higher age by law. All relevant international laws and regulations must be respected without any concession. #NoChild Labor
Mutual voluntary agreements without any form of coercion. And in doing so, employees should in no situation be forced or required to surrender government-issued identification papers, passports or work permits as a condition of employment.
